Site name: Glen Loch Moraines

Grid reference: [NN 98526 75066]

Locality: The floor of Glen Loch in the vicinity of Loch Loch

GCR Status: N/A

GCR No.: N/A

Type: Landform assemblage

Description: A distinctive set of sharp-crested moraine ridges occur in Glen Loch, where some allow passage across Loch Loch at low water levels.

Justification: These features are probably De Geer moraines that formed at the margin of ice that retreated northwards towards an ice divide situated across the eastern Gaick. Features such as these are not common and formed at ice fronts that terminated in water.
